January 2015 – Surgery

I had to take the summer of 2015 off work due to surgery, but I am all recovered and I have now stepped up to become a full time 1st Assistant Sound.

On the lead up to my surgery I worked on –

“Downton Abbey” Season 6 dailies– Main unit and second unit 2nd sound assistant for David Lascelles AMPS and Dylan Voigt.

“The Program” Feature Film pickup day – Sound Mixer Peter Lindsay

“Patient Zero” Feature Film Daily covering 2nd sound assistant for Sound Mixer Paul Munro

First Aid

I have just re-qualified as a first aider.

HSE First aid at work with good old St Johns Ambulance with a bursary from the  Skillset TV Health and Safety fund.

Thanks Skillset!

Crew North

I have paid my subs for the year, good old BECTU have put me in the Crew North directory which will be sent out to all the production companies in the North of England.

Boom Operators Network

I have just been welcomed into the Boom Op network, which is nice. I applied via the chap who runs it, Steve Fish, a very experienced boom op.  I am told by a friend the network hosts some of the best boom swingers in the world! If your a Boom Op or a Sound assistant, go have a look. Cheers

This is the website of Lee Thompson, Sound recordist for documentary and Sound assistant for Drama and film.

This site is currently under construction but will soon host information, some films, sounds and photographs I have shot.

Thank you for your interest!
